Waste Collection

Hillsborough County garbage collection is on Monday and Thursday.

On Mondays, there will be garbage collection only (black bins) On Thursdays, there is collection for both garbage and recycling (blue bin) and yard waste. 

Per Hillsborough County, the rules for yard waste are as follows: Weekly set-out limit of less than 2 cubic yards, with each container weighing no more than 50 pounds. Limbs and branches should be under 4 feet long and 6 inches in diameter, and all yard waste must be bundled, neatly stacked, or placed in a yard waste container.

Homeowners are allowed to place bins curbside the night before pickup and are advised to put the bins away in a place not visible from the street before the end of pick-up day. Bins left out for more than 24 hours are subject to fining.

  • Call Solid Waste Customer Service at (813) 272-5680 to schedule a pickup
  • The request to schedule a bulky waste pickup must be made before placing trash at the curbside for collection.
